Patricia "Diane" Hogue Obituary

Patricia "Diane" Hogue, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 70, with her family by her side.

Diane was born September 22, 1953, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Robert “Bob” and Thelma (Nichols) Benton. She attended Pleasant Grove School though 8th grade and graduated from Shawnee High School with the class of 1971.

After graduation, she married Charley "Sonny" Hogue. To this union were born two sons- Charles Joseph Hogue and Michael Jason Hogue.

Diane was raised in the family business, Benton’s Café, where she worked as a waitress.  She was fast, efficient, and loved taking care of her customers. And those customers loved her in return. After marriage, Diane pursued a career in banking. She worked at Federal National Bank, BancFirst, and for many years at Tinker Federal Credit Union where her specialty was student loans. She worked with many of the higher learning institutions around this area helping students finance their education. She loved visiting these colleges and universities and bringing gifts to the financial aide offices- namely a pie or two from the café.

Diane loved basketball. She played on the girls’ basketball team at Pleasant Grove. She enjoyed watching her boys and grandchildren play as well as her nieces, nephews and their children. For many years, she went to games at Oklahoma Baptist University along with her mom and dad. She also enjoyed attending Potawatomi Fire games.

Diane was continually learning. As an adult and after raising her family, she attended St. Gregory’s University in the evenings and proudly earned an Associate’s Degree.

Diane was a faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, sister; Kristine Ann Benton Drummond, and mother and father-in-law Charley “Buddy" and Annette Hogue.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons- Charley "Chuck" Hogue and children; Jazmyn Sherk, Kyndal, Chrystian, and Chandler; Michael and Ellen Hogue and children; Jason and Ryley; sisters, Nancy Benton Wright, Linda Benton White, and Beth and V.A. Hatley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of friends.
